Loevy & Loevy is a top tier national civil rights law firm. We are leaders in civil rights, whistleblower and False Claims Act, privacy, and transparency cases.
Loevy & Loevy is accepting applications for Fall 2023 Fellows.
The Justice Fellowship offers standout practicing attorneys, judicial law clerks, and law graduates committed to civil rights and criminal justice an unparalleled opportunity to work on trial and appellate litigation with a top tier national civil rights law firm. Our Justice Fellows participate in all aspects of our civil rights practice, including our wrongful convictions, police shootings, and prisoners’ rights practices.
Justice Fellows typically commit to a two-year term, and many of our previous Justice Fellows have continued at the firm thereafter. Compensation is $100,000 per year plus bonus, with full benefits including fully-paid employee and dependent health coverage and life insurance, employer funded HRA accounts, and dental, vision and 401(k) plans, and generous time off.
Fellows participate in Loevy & Loevy’s trial teams, take depositions of defendants and third-party witnesses, write briefs and pleadings for federal district courts and courts of appeals, and participate in all aspects of discovery and case investigation.
The Fellowship is designed for lawyers less than 5 years out of law school. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed judicial clerkships or public-interest fellowships, and to those with a keen interest in trial practice, stellar academic records, clinical experience, and a sustained interest in issues relating to racial injustice within the criminal legal system. A demonstrated commitment to public interest law, civil rights, or criminal justice is important.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, list of references, and a sample of your writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your cover letter should describe what drives your interest in civil rights work. Your writing sample should include a cover page describing the context for your written work.
Loevy & Loevy has a strong commitment to providing exemplary representation to our diverse client community and creating an inclusive workplace environment welcoming to people of all backgrounds. The firm strongly encourages applications from people of color, people of all genders and sexual orientations, people with disabilities, and people historically underrepresented in the practice of law.
