Varnum LLP is seeking a full-time Recruiting and Professional Development Assistant. This individual will support the firm's recruitment of law students, entry-level and experienced attorney hires, as well as assist with attorney professional development efforts and other initiatives within the firm. This full-time position can be based in any of the firm's Michigan offices (Grand Rapids, Novi, Birmingham, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo) and requires working standard business hours and occasional support for evening events.
Duties will include scheduling and organizing committee meetings, interviews, and trainings, entering and maintaining candidate information in the applicant tracking system, posting all open positions to various career sites and generally assisting with the hiring process, assisting with the firm's Summer Associate Program and other law student-related hiring efforts, assisting with the lateral attorney recruiting, onboarding, and integration processes, and assisting with the firm's attorney professional development efforts.
Excellent customer service skills, exceptional attention to detail, ability to perform under pressure, strong communication skills and organizational aptitude are critical for top performance in this role.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Legal Studies, or related field or equivalent experience.
Two years of administrative assistant or office experience preferred.
Legal recruiting or other professional services industry hiring experience is ideal, but not required.
